Job Overview:
The Planned Maintenance Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an effective planned maintenance program for the tug and barge fleet.
This position ensures the optimal functionality and reliability of all vessels by leveraging the Ellipse system to manage maintenance schedules, maintain accurate service records, analyze maintenance data, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Planned Maintenance Program Development and Implementation:

- Create and implement a structured planned maintenance program tailored to fleet requirements and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that all vessels adhere to scheduled maintenance plans to maximize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
2. Ellipse System Management:

- Fully utilize the Ellipse system to plan, schedule, and document all maintenance activities.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance records are kept in the system, including service history and spare parts usage.
- Provide training and support to vessel crews and technical teams in the effective use of the Ellipse system.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting:

- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Generate and present maintenance performance reports to the Technical Support Manager and other stakeholders.
- Use analysis to propose data-driven recommendations for optimizing maintenance processes.
4. Compliance and Standards:

- Ensure the maintenance program aligns with local and international maritime regulations.
- Conduct regular checks to confirm compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
5. Coordination and Collaboration:

- Coordinate closely with vessel engineers, technical teams, and procurement staff to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to integrate maintenance planning with broader operational strategies.
Qualification & Skills:
1. Professional Background:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in maritime maintenance management or a related technical role.
- Hands-on experience with planned maintenance systems, preferably Ellipse or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, and reporting in a maritime or logistics environment.
2. Skills and Competencies:

- Proficient in using maintenance management software and analyzing technical data.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills to oversee complex maintenance schedules.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with technical teams, vessel crew, and stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities to address maintenance challenges and improve processes.
3. Education and Certification:

- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications or training in maintenance management or technical operations will be an advantage.
