Job Overview:

The Fleet Welder is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the fleet by conducting steel repairs, fabrication, and other welding-related tasks. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues, traveling to fleet vessels as required, and ensuring high-quality work that adheres to maritime standards and regulations.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

1. Steel Repairs and Maintenance

• • Perform steel repairs on fleet vessels, ensuring structural integrity and safety.

  • Address damages or wear and tear on vessel structures promptly.

2. Fabrication Work

• • Design, cut, and fabricate metal structures and components as needed for the fleet.

  • Work in coordination with the technical team to meet operational requirements.

3. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving

• • Assess and diagnose structural issues on vessels and provide effective welding solutions.

  • Collaborate with the technical team to address complex problems.

4. Planned Maintenance and Inspections

• • Carry out scheduled inspections and maintenance to ensure vessel structures remain in optimal condition.

  • Document all maintenance and repair activities in detailed reports.

5. On-Site Support

• • Travel to fleet vessels to provide on-site welding support and repairs.

  • Work closely with vessel crews to minimize operational downtime during repairs.

6. Compliance with Safety Standards

• • Adhere to company safety policies and maritime regulations while performing welding tasks.

  • Ensure proper use of tools and equipment to maintain safety on board.

Qualification & Skills:

• Certification in welding or a related technical field.

• Proven experience in welding, fabrication, and steel repairs (marine experience is a plus).

• Proficiency in various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

• Familiarity with safety procedures and standards in maritime environments.

• Physical fitness and willingness to travel frequently to fleet vessels.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
